Exchange studies

(18-30 ECTS Credits)

Students from schools that the Royal Institute of Art has an exchange agreement with can apply for an exchange period ranging from 3 months to 1 year. Students coming from schools that don’t have an exchange agreement with us, or students who have recently graduated from a comparable institution, can instead apply to guest studies of one academic year.

Exchange students are provided with a studio space, a supervising professor and will be assigned to a professor group with a mixed group of students. They will have access to the college’s workshops and the elective course elements within fine arts. Knowledge of Swedish is not necessary, but proper command of English is required to take full advantage of the studies.

The academic year is divided into an autumn semester (beginning of September–mid January) and a spring semester (mid January–beginning of June).

For Erasmus+ and KUNO-Nordplus exchange studies:

Please note that your application must be confirmed by your home institution, contact your international coordinator at your home institution before applying. Students at our non-European partner institutions, please contact your international coordinator who will be able to tell you more about the application procedure. Read the Erasmus Policy Statement here.
