Students at the Royal Institute of Art participate in Beuys Beuys Beuys with non-stop eight hour live stream together with Goethe-Institut Schweden
During a non-stop eight-hour programme on 15 December, students from the Royal Institute of Art will work, discuss, and expand upon the practice of artist Joseph Beuys. The event takes place at Mellanrummet at the Royal Institute of Art and will be available to the public via a live-stream. Viewers can follow the programme online, or watch the transmission on site the at the Goethe-Institut Schweden in Stockholm.
The live streamed peogramme is part of event series Beuys Beuys Beuys, aiming to explore possibilities for an artistic practice of today and starting from the work of Beuys as well as related contexts. Starting in September 2021, the process has been an intergenerational encounter between students Cilia Wagén, Ida Lindgren, Lior Nønne Malue Hansen, Malin Bengtsson, Moa Cedercrona, Nicole Khadividombali, Sasha Amaya, Stella Dieden Richter und Therese Norgren with professors Petra Bauer, Benjamin Gerdes and Johanna Gustafsson Fürst. The event is produced by Silvia Thomackenstein.
Drawing on experiences, associations, and aspirations related to Beuys’ artistic practice as perceived today, the livestream broadcast represents the culmination of this inquiry. This process was made possible with generous support and upon an invitation from Goethe-Institut Schweden.
