The Institute for Reproducibility
The Institute for Reproducibility is an artistic research project initiated by Lina Bjerneld and Jenny Olsson with support of artistic research and development funding at the Royal Institute of Art. The project started in 2020 and in the spring of 2023 the workshop Print Press Paint was carried out as a first step to investigate concepts and methods within the concept of reproducibility. The workshop resulted in this publication.
The aim of the Institute for Reproducibility is to create more knowledge about processes related to reproducibility and how they behave both as methods and as results. The research has the potential to uncover new and different aspects of artistic thinking and examine whether shifts have occurred in our perception of the art object and artistic practice. It is about to develop and make visible choices, habits and repetitions that often belong to the tacit knowledge of the practice.
