Lap-See Lam receives major Norwegian art prize

Swedish artist Lap-See Lam, who graduated with a master’s degree in fine arts from the Royal Institute of Art in 2020, is this year’s recipient of the Norwegian Lise Wilhelmsen Art Award, one of the world’s largest art prizes. The prize money is almost 1 million SEK.

In her artistic practice, Lap-See Lam works at the intersection of personal and collective narratives related to migration and cultural heritage.

Established in 2019, the Lise Wilhelmsen Art Award aims to recognize outstanding international artists whose work is relevant to the contemporary world.
