Affordances and Study with Valentina Desideri and Stefano Harney

CAPIm in collaboration with Medborgarhuset Hägersten presents:

Desideri and Harney present reflections from their ongoing collaboration, in which they explore the senses as a way of rethinking how knowledge is generated beyond individual perception. Moving beyond Eurocentric models, they approach perception through the concept of “affordances.” Focusing on less recognized senses such as proprioception, interoception, and the vestibular sense, they examine the social and political significance of the senses, as well as their potential to open up alternative ways of perceiving and being in the world. The conversation introduces key concepts and practices in their work, such as the undercommons, black study, and Political Therapy, and is followed by an open discussion.

Free admission. Registration required via this form.

Valentina Desideri is an artist and researcher at the Centre for Art and the Political Imaginary (CAPIm) in Stockholm.
