Welcome to the launch of the Center for Art and the Political Imaginary (CAPIm).
The Royal Institute of Art and HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg, are pleased to announce the launch of Sweden’s first center of excellence in artistic research the Center for Art and the Political Imaginary (CAPIm).
CAPIm is dedicated to the exploration of the intersections of contemporary art and political futures. The launch marks the start of a multi-year collaboration between HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg and Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, with funding from the Swedish Research Council.
CAPIm is co-chaired by Prof. Mick Wilson and Prof. Natasha Marie Llorens, with support from a steering group that includes Prof. Jyoti Mistry and Dr. Axel Andersson.
The launch provides an opportunity to engage with the center’s vision and initiatives, and to participate in discussions on how CAPIm can contribute to the development of artistic research in Sweden and beyond. The event will conclude with a reception where refreshments will be served.
Read an interview with Natasha Marie Llorens, co-chair of CAPIm. About the center’s origins, goals and method of integrating artistic research into education at the Royal Institute of Art. How CAPIm offers a platform that supports both established artists and artists in training.
