The statement exists in two versions, each offering a different articulation of the same ideas:
Text 1:
Niklas Breimert works with sculpture and installation. By layering and building upon disparate elements he aims to explore the tension between lived experience and constructed understanding. His interest in the human illusion of separation from nature leads to the exploration of how these beliefs shape and are shaped by religious and existential narratives. With an emphasis on craftsmanship and the use of traditional techniques, materials, and forms, he seeks to connect with the world of past humans despite not sharing their time. Through his works he invites the viewer to contemplate on how perception and belief shape our sense of being in the world.
Text 2:
Niklas Breimert works with sculpture and installation. By combining found forms and materials, he looks at the gap between what we’ve experienced and what we think we know about the world. He’s interested in the illusion that humans are separated from nature, and how religion shapes that belief and our search for meaning. Working with traditional techniques and materials, he aims to work in the same spirit as craftspeople of the past, rather than imitating them. His work opens a space for the viewer to notice how our assumptions and ideas affect how we see the world.
