Lina Bjerneld works with painting and drawing in a self-reflexive practice to explore social, political, and psychological phenomena. Her painting practice integrates installation, emphasizing both states of being and spatial unity. She explores the expressive potential of figure and form, reworking imagery, objects, and genres to generate new interpretations.
Her research also examines painting’s societal role and performative nature within countercultural visuality, as seen in the research project The Institute of Reproducibility and the zine project BILD.
