How to apply for the Master’s programme in Fine Art

Application to the Royal Academy of Fine Art/Kungl. Konsthögskolan (KKH) takes place in two stages.

  1. You must first make an application on universityadmissions.se where you upload your grades.

Prioritize the program you would like to get into first in your application (prio 1). This is important because if you are admitted to a program, your lower priority search options will be deleted. You can change the registration until the last registration day.

  1. Then you must upload work samples in our application portal.

(Please note that we have two programmes in Fine Art, so make sure you upload your work samples to the same programme you applied for in universityadmissions.se. We cannot help you afterwards if you have uploaded work samples to the wrong programme.)

In the portal you create an account. Login information is sent to the email address you provided. Then you can log in and upload your work samples. Create an account well in advance so you have time for all the steps. At high load, it may take some time before the login information is emailed out.

In the portal, you must also enter your personal registration number from universityadmissions.se. It should be an 8 digit long number.

We recommend that you upload work samples well in advance of the deadline and keep in mind that it may take time to upload larger samples. You can change your application until the deadline, but after the deadline you can not complete or add files.

Deadline

The deadline is March 3 at 23.59 2025. By then, both steps must be completed and submitted.

Note that your application will not be processed unless both steps have been completed.

The material registered in our systems is public information and may, in accordance with the principle of public access to official documents, be made openly available if it does not contain classified details. The application is processed in an automated register. Decisions on how the register is to be kept can be found in the Ordinance regarding reporting of studies, etc., at higher education institutions (SFS 1993:1153, with amendments).

GDPR

According to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), everyone entered on KKH´s register has the right to access information regarding those details which have been registered. To apply for an extract from KKH´s register, you must contact KKH by way of a letter signed by you. According to GDPR, you have the right to request that your personal details be corrected, blocked or deleted if they have not been handled in the right way – from a legal point of view, that is.
