Donation of technical equipment

The Royal Institute of Art is extremely grateful for Ivar and Madelene Andersson’s donation of technical equipment to the school.

Working as a machinist, foreman, technician, technology collector, Ivar has been active in film, cinemas and art since 1971. Among the places he has worked at, one can count Filmhuset, Moderna Museet and Dramatiska Institutet.

After Ivar Anderssons passing earlier this year, Madelene Andersson, Ivar’s wife, decided that Ivar’s archive and storage with technical equipment would be gifted to the Royal Institute.

Sara Arrhenius, Vice-Chancellor at the Royal Institute of Art:

– Today, there is a great deal of interest among a new generation of art students in discovering and reusing analogue techniques that have been overshadowed by the digital revolution. The donation of analogue film equipment to our students gives us a unique opportunity to work with these technologies in our education and research. In this way, these technologies will have a continued life in the art of the future.
