Tales They Don’t Tell You
The past meets the present through cylindrical water sculptures and woven images into textiles. The visibility of the images are constantly on the verge of renewal and disappearance inspired by ecosystems, queer theory and mythical tales from the Vedas 1500-500 BCE.
Working with cameras Dev Dhunsi focus on what is outside the picture frame or on other-than-humans, such as minerals, spirits, textiles, and ancestors. He try to create site- and time-specific works that can be experienced through multisensory channels. By giving visibility to images that morph, decay, and evolve, his ecosystems highlight the intimate yet expansive coexistences among diverse beings, acknowledging our shared and continuous participation in the processes of living, dying, and decomposing.
