It is a ridiculously simple starting point, the corner. It is very concrete, yet strangely abstract the more you think about it. It is something that exists, although always dependent on the existence of something else. I find myself within a space between corners and nothingness. More precicely, I am standing in a room. It is not just any room, but a very particular room.
Therese Norgren (b. 1992, SE) will receive her master’s degree in fine arts from the Royal Institute of Art in 2025, under the professorship of Johanna Gustafsson Fürst. Between 2022 and 2024, Norgren studied at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the class of Judith Hopf. In 2023, she was on a field trip in Iceland to research movement through landscapes as part of her practice. In 2024, she was part of Busan Biennale in Korea together with Uncharted collective, co-founded by Norgren. Other recent works include group shows in Frankfurt am Main, Prague and Berlin. D E C O D E R is Norgren’s first solo exhibition.
